Marketing: A Conversation with Friends

"Our recent changes to AudaVoxx are paying off. Boatload of newsletter signups and ad requests. Woot! Thanks so much for working with me on this. "

Cheri Lasota, AudaVoxx Founder

My Marketing Philosophy

I enjoy marketing, and I think it's because I veiw it as having a conversation. It is not a one way process; or at least, it shouldn't be. It is an interaction with someone who has a simlar interest; in short, a potential friend. Forging that relationship is what creates happy, loyal readers and customers, and makes a book or event successful or not. It is because people know if you are just trying to sell them something, or if you are trying to share something you believe in.

"This event was very rewarding. The knowledgeable and varied speakers were full of life and willing to share. I learned a lot and am looking forward to learning more about Ooligan Press!"

Brandy Bell, Write to Publish 2015 Attendee

Pure Creativity

Marketing also lets me use my imagination. My favorite part of any marketing plan is thinking up an activity or angle, unique to that book or event, with which to engage the reader or attendee.  I have tried to bring my own unique style and a lot of creativity to all my past marketing projects, which I think you'll be able to see in my marketing design work and in my example press releases.
